Echo Audio's firewire soundcard offerings include a standard 8 analogue in/out soundcard with two mic pre's and an innovative 12 analogue in/out soundcard capable of 24/192 khz recording.
The AudioFire 8 is a firewire soundcard that allows you to connect up to 8 analogue devices for recording to your computer. It includes two mic pre-amps, so you can connect either 1/4" or XLR mics or guitars directly to the Audiofire.
Once we had these in our hands, we confirmed what was clear from the specs - these aren't toys! The real excitement comes with the understanding that you can daisy chain 2 or more units and keep them in sync by using the built in Wordclock. You can start out with an Audiofire 8, and if you need more channels, or want to record at 24/192, you can add in an Audiofire 12.
