The AK-DR1 is an accessory kit for the DR-1 recorder which adds the following:

By attaching the Tripod Adapter to the main unit, the tripod can be used. The Mic Stand Adapter can be used to attach the main unit to a microphone stand.

By placing the Windscreen over the stereo microphones built into the main unit, noise that is created by wind blowing over the microphone can be reduced.
