Question: Will this program work with an acoustic piano? Can I use it with my electronic keyboard?

Answer:

This software will only be able to "hear" you play if you use a MIDI keyboard. If you have an electronic keyboard, it probably has MIDI capabilities. Look on the back of the keyboard for a port labeled "MIDI Out." If you have one of these ports, then you need a MIDI interface to connect it to your computer. Read our MIDI Interface Buyer's Guide for help on selecting the interface you need for your computer.

Teach Yourself to Play Piano does not require a MIDI keyboard, as it does not provide feedback. This is useful if you only have an acoustic piano.
