Steinberg's Halion software manages to strike an excellent balance between powerful control over your sounds and ease of use so that you can actually take advantage of these sounds without having an advanced degree in computer science. The Halion Symphonic Orchestra takes the power of Halion and adds 27GB of orchestral samples.
Not as large as some sample libraries, the Halion Symphonic Orchestra library strives to offer versatility at an affordable price point. With 27GB of samples, almost every musical style is covered, including classical and contemporary and can be used for any situation that calls for orchestral instruments.
Halion Symphonic Orchestra also includes the handy "RAMSave" feature found in the main Halion program. Essentially, RAMSave will “freeze” instruments and automatically unload unneeded samples from memory. This means that not only does the system use less RAM (although we still recommend 2GB if you can afford it), but it also means faster load and save times, which can be important for large projects.
