The Guitar Rig 3 Kontrol can be used as a professional quality recording interface / external sound card for any application (not just Guitar Rig 3, although as far as I can tell the foot switches / expression pedal only works with the GR3 software). The package does not include any software in the box, not even the driver for the Kontrol, which is strange, but the driver is freely downloadable...
